Build your place in bauxite and alumina.
From bauxite mining and export logistics to maintenance, processing and alumina refining, each business model has different customers and technical requirements. We help research the companies, facilities and delivery conditions behind your proposal, then organise the local and specialist work needed to evaluate it.
Understand the route from mine to market.
CBG’s published operations provide one concrete example: bauxite moves from Sangarédi by rail to preparation facilities and the export port at Kamsar. Other operations must be assessed on their own arrangements.
At the mine
If you supply machines, parts, maintenance or operational services, identify the equipment in use, the procurement organisation and the required service coverage. A general interest in mining is not yet a customer brief.
Across the transport chain
Investigate how material moves, who controls the infrastructure and which services are contracted externally. Access to a mine does not establish access to rail, stockyards or a port.
At preparation and processing facilities
A maintenance, engineering or processing proposal needs technical information about the plant, power, feed material and quality requirements. We coordinate introductions and specialist input around a defined scope.
Ask the questions that shape a workable proposal.
Public sector information is a starting point. The proposed operation, contract or counterparty needs a separate review.
Authority and responsibility
Establish the company’s role, its authorisations and the person empowered to represent it. We coordinate document enquiries and independent professional checks relevant to the transaction.
Material and delivery terms
For a material-related proposal, clarify sampling, independent analysis, specifications, volume evidence and the delivery route. Qualified specialists should assess the technical and contractual terms.
Local operating economics
Review workshop or storage needs, staffing, power, maintenance, transport and working capital. We help gather local information so your team can test the commercial assumptions.
Bring a specific capability. Build a focused brief.
The useful next step depends on whether you bring equipment, specialist knowledge, an operating business or a project.
Equipment or service suppliers
Share your product range, maintenance capability, delivery experience and intended customer. We can research relevant operators and local partners.
Processing and infrastructure developers
Share your concept, technical partners and information already available. We help arrange site enquiries and introductions to the professionals needed for feasibility work.
Investors reviewing an introduction
Share a non-confidential overview of the company and proposal first. We can agree the checks, site work and technical questions needed before a larger commitment.
Alumina refining: assess the industrial proposition.
Alumina refining is a separate undertaking from preparing bauxite for shipment. IFC’s October 2020 Guinea diagnostic discusses downstream refining and highlights capital, heat, skills and infrastructure constraints. This historical analysis is not evidence that any named refinery project is currently available.
Feedstock and the process
Ask independent process engineers to assess the proposed bauxite, representative test results, process route and expected output specification. An ore supply introduction should not substitute for technical studies or clear feedstock rights and contractual arrangements.
Energy requirements and utilities
Commission a project-specific heat, electricity and water assessment. Confirm the proposed supply arrangements, continuity, costs and backup requirements with engineers and relevant providers. A nearby power asset does not establish access, capacity or a suitable tariff for your plant.
Site, residue and environmental planning
Investigate land, access, water management, residue handling and community considerations early with qualified specialists. We can coordinate site enquiries and professional meetings; the technical design and required environmental and operating approvals need their own assessment.
Execution, products and buyers
A refinery concept needs a credible engineering and construction team, an operating plan and a route to customers. Review financing assumptions, product acceptance, export arrangements and maintenance support before treating the concept as an executable project.
Understand the mining companies and supplier chain.
CBG is one documented operator example, not a complete directory or a Capital Africa partner endorsement. For any other mining company or supplier, begin with current evidence about its role and operations.
Identify the customer and its buying process
Establish whether you are approaching a mine operator, main contractor, processor or logistics provider. Research the relevant legal company and procurement route. We can help prepare a focused business approach around an identifiable need.
Exporters and commercial representatives
Before engaging an exporter, establish its legal identity, authority to offer the material and the documented supply chain. Request current export documentation and shipment references for independent review. We help coordinate company verification and the relevant port, transport and specialist enquiries around your proposed transaction.
Equipment and maintenance capability
For pumps, conveyors, mobile plant, spares or workshop services, confirm the installed equipment, compatibility and service expectations with the customer. Review local stock, technician availability, warranties and repair support as part of the delivery proposal.
Transport, ports and industrial services
Map the export chain and the handovers between haulage, rail, stockyards, loading and shipping. A port-services or industrial-support proposal needs confirmed access, scope and contractual responsibilities; it should not assume that all infrastructure is available to every user.
Company and supplier verification
Check registration, ownership, authorised representatives and operating references. Where goods or equipment are involved, investigate provenance, condition, capacity and delivery evidence. We coordinate due diligence support and qualified technical input around the specific claim being assessed.
Know what has been checked.
A public guide provides context. A review status applies only to identified material, its version and the stated scope; it is never assigned because a document was uploaded or generated by AI.
Public Information
Published operator or institutional information identifies its source and date. It has not automatically undergone a Capital Africa project review and does not confirm asset availability, current authorisation or the accuracy of a third-party proposal.
Capital Africa Reviewed
A named reviewer records what was examined, when it was examined and what remains unresolved. This is a scoped review of information, not a blanket approval of a company, mineral shipment or investment.
Verified Documentation
This status requires a deliberate staff approval supported by evidence references, the review scope, limitations and the material version. Changed underlying material requires re-review. It does not mean investment approval, legal certification, government endorsement or a financial guarantee.

Your questions, answered.
A starting point for a more informed conversation.
Can you help me start a bauxite haulage or equipment business?
Yes. We can research customers and operating partners, arrange meetings and help investigate local setup needs. Vehicle suitability, operating permissions, infrastructure access and contract terms need project-specific review.
Do you have a bauxite mine available for investment?
This guide describes business routes within the sector. If you have a specific asset or proposal, we can scope an assessment of its owner, documents, operating status and technical evidence.
Can you arrange facility visits and independent testing?
We can coordinate visit requests and introductions to qualified laboratories or technical specialists. Access, sampling permissions, testing scope and reporting arrangements are agreed for the particular assignment.
Can you help assess an alumina refinery proposal?
Yes. We can scope company and partner enquiries, local site research and introductions to process, energy, environmental and other qualified specialists. The proposal needs current feasibility evidence, feedstock and utility arrangements and a credible commercial plan; the presence of bauxite alone does not establish viability.
